The Plant Protector

Protects your garden from the neighbour’s cat (and other animals)!

Creating the Protector, our Cat repellent

How does it work?

The Plant Protector covers the soil, preventing cats, squirrels, and foxes from rolling on and digging up the plants.

Unlike other products, the Protector is 100% natural, containing no plastics or chemicals, and does not harm animals. Additionally, it blends beautifully into the garden, allowing plants to grow freely.

Dimensions: Each protector covers an area of approximately 60cm x 20cm. Five protectors can cover an area of up to 100cm x 70cm. Please note that they are hand-made, and slight variations between protectors may occur.

How to place the Plant Protector?

1. Stretch the Protector and position the sticks into
the soil.

2. Push the pegs, 1-2 per loop, tightly into the soil. The loops should not be much bigger than a fist.

3. Repeat with additional Protectors and ensure there is no gaps between Protectors. From time to time check that the pegs are tightly placed.

4. Let the plants grow!

Tips

  • Pin the pegs all the way into the soil. From time-to-time check that the pegs are still in place.

  • Ensure that no gaps are left for cats to squeeze through, neither between the Protectors nor between the coils of each Protector.

  • Ensure that each loop is not so large that a cat can squeeze through. If needed, just create an additional loop, using the spare pegs.

  • Do not attempt to use the Plant Protector on your lawn. Unless you were to cover your entire lawn completely with Plant Protectors a cat would still find a space for its business.

How Many Do I Need?

Ensuring complete coverage of your flowerbed is crucial, particularly if your garden has been a favoured spot in the past!

For an average-sized flowerbed or vegetable patch, for example (50 x 100 cm), we recommend a 5x Protector Medium package. However, to ensure you have enough Protectors, we created a simple tool to help you calculate how many you need (I’m a scientist after all…)

PS. if you've ordered excess Plant Protectors, rest assured you can return them for a full refund.

Ways to use and position the Protectors

  1. Sow the seeds or plant the plants

  2. Place the Plant Protector to cover the flowerbed or vegetable patch

  3. Let seeds germinate and safely flourish
